an elm - fly pan elm

Futuristic synthesizer sounds floating in the atmosphere, colliding with forgotten transmissions. This amalgamation of vintage and forthcoming orchestrated rhythms, zeros in and moves in cadence with the consciousness. The sounds of An Elm are dense, every circuit chirping, like the lulling sounds of acridids both piercing and droning as the sun drops below the horizon.

Fly Pan Elm is six well composed tracks coming in at about forty minutes. The artists creating this synthesizer landscape is Florian von Ameln. The music of An Elm on this cassette is in consonance with motion. Ambient modulation that cascades down rocky outcroppings. Notes rest in cool sparkling pools then flow free to the next plateau. Vast arrays of tributaries for melodies finding unique pathways. The entire listen delightfully fills the spectrum of imagination. This might be a little bit of a stretch, but when first listing to Fly Pan Elm i thought of Mike Oldfield's record Hergest Ridge. Although not the same, this is the homage to the past Florian seems to exude.

This cassette is out in the most recent batch of tapes from Cosmic Winnetou. Seventy copies created. You can pick this up from the label, from Florian von Ameln's bandcamp page or just the recently updated Tomentosa site with all of the most recent Cosmic Winnetou batch releases.
